The DRC Disability History project has made a flying start with the launch of the blog and a Facebook group which has just over 70 members after only two weeks.
We have prepared a news release which will be sent out hopefully this weekend. The news release has been delayed slightly because one of DRC's apprentices, Umair Idrees has been working on a DRC logo with balloons and streamers to celebrate the organisation's 21st anniversary.
The Facebook page has already generated both comments of support and a lovely piece of writing from Mary Beaumont an activist from the Nuneaton and Bedworth area, who has contributed some of her childhood memories. I am really delighted by this as this is exactly what we need for the blog and the archive.
I've also been busy transcribing some old documents and interview material donated by Len and Peggy Tasker in Coventry.
Hoping to recruit some volunteers in the coming weeks but in the meantime am pleased with the positive response from disabled people in the Faceook network.
